ABOUT THIS WINE

Fingers Crossed "Head Held High" Syrah 2020 is an American fine wine from California, crafted from Syrah grapes blended with 7% Grenache, 1% Mourvèdre, and 4% white wine. This wine is matured in 79% new French oak barrels for 20 months, resulting in an opaque ruby-black color. The nose reveals seductive aromas of peppermint, violet, tar, coffee bean, and undergrowth, complemented by a deep heart of blackcurrant. On the palate, it features powdery tannins alongside latent notes of game, wildflowers, and tea leaves that linger on the finish. This wine promises excellent potential for long cellaring. Rated 96 by Robert Parker.

Fingers Crossed is a Rhône-based winery in Oak View, California. Owners and winemakers Nikolas and Julia Krankl focus on quality over quantity, what they affectionately call their “stained hand approach.” Nikolas worked for his parents at Sine Qua Non for five years and in 2017, he decided to pursue a dream and create his own brand with his wife, Julia, a Harvard-trained physician. Each year they create their own piece of art to adorn their bottles and wooden boxes. They have been called rising stars by respected critics like Jeb Dunnuck, Lisa Perotti Brown and Antonio Galloni.
