Marchesi Antinori Solaia Toscana IGT 2020 is a ruby red wine from Tuscany, boasting exceptional intensity and complexity on the nose. It features notes of wild berries—especially blueberries, raspberries, and currants—intermingling with sweet hints of plums and black cherries, along with fresh impressions of mint, myrtle, and licorice, complemented by floral nuances of lavender. The rich bouquet is rounded out by well-integrated notes of cocoa powder and dried fruit, followed by spicy hints of cloves and pink pepper. The palate offers a rich, mouth-filling entry that elegantly softens, with velvety tannins supporting a long, persistent finish. The aftertaste echoes the mint, licorice, and chocolate notes perceived on the nose. Rated 98/100 by James Suckling.
